Well, that was one of the key aspects of this episode. That yes they are indeed related, that yes indeed there’s a large family resemblance, and yes that Kirie is rather bothered by that.

That and that she’s got a slight inferiority complex about the size of her breasts, the fact that Niiya noticed them anyway, pretty much helped her with lessening that complex.

Does seem to be another mystery in their family tree though. They made mention of betraying Kirie’s grandmother, but that comment was kinda out of left field. So there may be more to that issue than they’ve let on thus far.

The animators didn’t put much effort to make Kirie look like Yuuko. In the manga, I saw how closely they really looked like and if they had the same hairstyle I wouldn’t know who is who without seeing their bust size.
