The latest episode of To Aru Majutsu no Index has fans absolutely perplexed as to why the “ID Search Engine” featured here bears a Miku-esque picture of Index bearing a leek.
She is not known for any negi-wielding antics to date, so the matter seems a complete mystery.
Just what possible reason could there be for her holding such a thing?

My guess: Although Index is described as a nun from Necessarius, a branch of the Church of England, her "walking church" garb is actually more like a druid's garb than any nun's habit. Druids are famously associated with Wales, as are leeks. I'm supposing that either she'll turn out to have a Welsh connection in some future episode, or Necessarius will turn out to have a lot of parallels with Druidry, or both.
