Virtual idol sensation Hatsune Miku is finally set to get a game to herself, Hatsune Miku Project DIVA (provisional title), set to be released in 2009 for the PSP, and to be developed by Sega. The game is set to be a rhythm game, unsurprisingly (you were expecting an FPS, perhaps?), apparently with elements of interior design.

Japan’s largest sports car racing event, the Super GT, is set to see a full on itasha participant with this automobile, graced by the likeness of none other than ultimate virtual idol Hatsune Miku; the racer has just been completed (the all important chassis at least) and the photos ensuing are an impressive sight.

Singer Gackt has leant his voice to a new vocaloid, dubbed Gackpoid, and Berserk creator Kentaro Miura has apparently deigned to provide him with the design for the avatar, for free, visible above – quite a departure from his usual style, I’m sure you’ll agree.
You can hear samples of the synthetic crooning on the official site. The software is due on the 25th of July, at a cost of some ¥18,900. It does not look as if this avatar will readily lend itself to an appealing incarnation as a nendoroid… Via ITmedia.
