Cos-Miku vs Virtual Miku

Hatsune Miku / 初音ミク

Ideal versus actuality (below). There seem to have been some dire Hatsune Miku cosplayers at times, but the verdict on this one seems positive… Still, perhaps some idols are better kept virtual?

Hatsune Miku PSP Game Announced

Hatsune Miku PSP Game Announced

Virtual idol sensation Hatsune Miku is finally set to get a game to herself, Hatsune Miku Project DIVA (provisional title), set to be released in 2009 for the PSP, and to be developed by Sega. The game is set to be a rhythm game, unsurprisingly (you were expecting an FPS, perhaps?), apparently with elements of interior design.

MikuMiku Mega Gallery

Hatsune Miku / 初音ミク

Here we have a gallery of Hatsune Miku images of extreme quality; with images gathered by both the Vippers and myself, the candidate images came to some three hundred. Since this is unwieldy, I went through and further selected what in my opinion form the top hundred, which are posted below.

The rest, which are by no means bad, I have posted together with these images to Sankaku Channel: this link will display the appropriate tag. You may browse the quality digest below, or take advantage of the much richer experience offered on the Channel, and evaluate them yourself.

Liberate~赤い海の夜明け~ / Liberate – Daybreak Over the Crimson Sea

Some nice visual work on this MAD utilising Hatsune Miku, and some refreshing use of non-J-pop music; it’s no surprise it has become popular. This is Liberate~赤い海の夜明け~ / Liberate – Daybreak Over the Crimson Sea.

Gackt Gets Vocaloid, Berserk Creator Provides Avatar

inger Gackt has leant his voice to a new vocaloid, dubbed Gackpoid, and Berserk creator Kentaro Miura has apparently deigned to provide him with the design for the avatar

Singer Gackt has leant his voice to a new vocaloid, dubbed Gackpoid, and Berserk creator Kentaro Miura has apparently deigned to provide him with the design for the avatar, for free, visible above – quite a departure from his usual style, I’m sure you’ll agree.

You can hear samples of the synthetic crooning on the official site. The software is due on the 25th of July, at a cost of some ¥18,900. It does not look as if this avatar will readily lend itself to an appealing incarnation as a nendoroid… Via ITmedia.
