Korean development team InPlay Mobile are making an adaptation of the popular run-‘n’-gun series Metal Slug titled “Metal Slug Revolution” and have employed some stunning cosplayers from Rzcos to dress up as the lovely Eri and Fio to help promote the game.

Police raids on Square Enix have been followed up by furious excoriation by SNK Playmore, condemning them for “major criminality,” “completely insincere conduct,” and “pernicious conduct” by way of explanation – and confirming that the company is so adamant that certain Square Enix executives should be arrested that it has targeted them individually with criminal charges.

SNK Playmore’s King of Fighters franchise has just received the utterly inexplicable addition of a scrolling shooting game using characters from the series, provisionally titled “The King of Fighters Sky Stage”.

The excellent 2D fighting series Samurai Spirits/Samurai Shodown looks set to get a new release on the Wii and PS2, as サムライスピリッツ天下一剣客伝 / Samurai Spirits Tenkaichi Kenkaku Den, although they seem to have unfortunately stopped short of making it into a sequel. It appears the previous games will also be included.
The only upgrades promised seem to be rerecorded voices and a colour editor, along online bouts for the PS2 and a minigame for the Wii – seems they got things the wrong way round there. Release is set for July 24th. I can’t help but think they would do well to put some more effort into this franchise. Story and screens here.
