A high school teacher helped herself to ¥4,400,000, earmarked for the school student council, and then treated herself with some shopping. The teacher, in her 40s, fiddled the books over a yearlong period, using the pilfered cash to pay down her debts and rack up even more debts with shopping and high life.
She was sacked for her creative accounting, though we do not hear of any criminal charges, perhaps since she paid back the “borrowed” funds; the headmaster also made amends by forgoing a month’s salary for not bothering to do any auditing, and for stamping all her receipts. A subtle connection there, perhaps? Via Sankei.

The Mainichi “2.5% of children erogamers” story turns out to be fake scaremongering after all, and my scepticism seems correct; the lying hacks completely twisted the figures, in fact “adult games” was referring to the likes of GTA, and there was a separate category for “H games”, which they completely ignored, and the results? 0.7% admitted to playing them, though 12.4% (the highest non-response) declined to respond? Interesting.
This does however still leave 0.7% bold enough to admit it, and a lot of the sample unwilling to respond, so the true figure is anyone’s guess. I can’t help suspecting that the proportion actually sexually active is probably higher than these figures for eroge, so it does bring the whole thing into focus as mere media scaremongering anyway. The table in question is below, source here.

Japanese elementary schoolers are not just precocious in their love of eroge (2.5% of them at any rate); now it seems their tastes also range to erotic love comedy, as it has been revealed that the most popular program amongst them is none other than Kanokon.
Kanokon features enough nudity, sexual innuendo and erotic hijinks to set any American parent’s group frothing at the mouth, documented below for your information. Production committee member Media Factory says they would rate it R18, but then passes the buck saying ratings are for the distributor to decide.
I am sure I am not alone in envying these Japanese elementary schoolers; 95% game console ownership and sexy comics and cartoons, truly fate smiles upon them. From J-Cast News, introduced to me here. Read the rest of this entry »

According to a study conducted by the Japanese National PTA Congress, 2.5% of Japanese fifth grade elementary school pupils “often play” adult games, and only 5% are without a console or handheld, Mainichi reports.
