
This is by Urakanda (actually he gives 厂ダ / Kanda as his name, and Ura-KandA as his site, but nobody seems to take any notice), a rather original artist whose entertaining role reversals and monster raep, coupled with rather vivid art, are certainly worth taking a look at.

Excellent strategic PS3 RPG 戦場のヴァルキュリア / Valkyria Chronicles, due in English in November, is set to receive a manga adaptation, which in something of a surprising move, is to be a BL title focused on homoerotic senpai-kouhai antics.

Moderately anticipated Xbox 360 “exclusive” SF RPG Star Ocean 4 has has some screenshots released which show off the game in some detail, though questions have been immediately asked about the wisdom of their character design and graphical style.
The style adopted seems to be a hodgepodge of Final Fantasy style CG and classical anime style visuals, and the results seem to be mixed.

Being a huge fan of the PS2 science fantasy RPG upon which this anime is based, I was apprehensive about the Tales of the Abyss adaptation, thinking it could well suffer a mediocre remake. However, I am delighted to say the anime is already shaping up to be one of astonishing quality.

I’m a little puzzled as to why admittedly highly popular RPG franchise Dragon Quest seems to have been able to accumulate so many quality images, and CG ones at that, with some doujin soft eroge obviously in play. Are Tales and Disgaea not worthy of this level of attention? We did at least have a superb selection of Monster Hunter images previously, so I suppose it is not too one-sided.

PS3 owning RPG fans will be interested to hear that popular musically themed RPG トラスティベル 〜ショパンの夢〜 ルプリーズ / Trusty Bell ~Chopin no Yume~ Reprise, or Eternal Sonata – Reprise, to give it its rather better English title, has just been released in Japan for the PS3, with the English language release due in mid October.

It has emerged that Microsoft’s saviour RPG, Tales of Vesperia, incorporates downloadable content in a heretofore unseen manner: in fact you can simply eschew playing the game entirely and shell out points/yen on Marketplace to obtain the money and gold, in a brazen imitation of classic MMORPG gold farming, except without the Chinese or eBay.
