This visually impressive Idol Master MAD has an interesting distinction aside from its obvious quality…

The Pantsu Witches get an interesting workover in this image, and it is a little surprising just how distinctive the are given how little detail exists.
We also saw the essential elements (the triangular parts) of the Strike Witches rendered into abstract shapes previously, but this one at least wins in terms of retro feel.

The long history of bishoujo games has been the subject of some Vipper attention recently, and the CG images, as well as the ancient systems and packaging, which emerge are rather interesting, and at times surprisingly good even after the passage of so many years.

This is ののワ / Nonowa, of Idol Master, so called because her face resembles the “ののワ” kana. The chibi version of Haruka, usually drawn as a doodle, the precise details of her creation are obscure, but what is important is to view this page. That is all that is required.
Origin. You can often see Nonowa making appearances in various Idol Master MADs…

A beautiful rendition of a day in the life of Hakurei Reimu and her various acquaintances (nearly all of them by the looks of it, friend and foe), realised in the style of an 8bit console; more a visual manga or even an anime, than a MAD as such, the quality is really faultless.
It’s entirely visual, with no actual Japanese, so anyone can enjoy it fully, and it runs for an amazing 22 minutes (and you would be well advised to watch to the end). Sold? Watch it below.

Firstly, and most strikingly, long time visual novel producer Alicesoft has actually officially authorised the distribution of many of their older titles (1990s) as abandonware; you can find them for direct download or torrent download, collected here. Secondly, there is a compendium of older eroge collected nicely with some CG (see below).

This rather comprehensive site has within a vast repository of final bosses for a variety of classic Japanese systems – perhaps worth a look if retro gaming is of interest, or if you just want to smirk at bad Engrish. A few eye catching ones are below. The giant robot cephalopods are my favourites.
