Virtual idol sensation Hatsune Miku is finally set to get a game to herself, Hatsune Miku Project DIVA (provisional title), set to be released in 2009 for the PSP, and to be developed by Sega. The game is set to be a rhythm game, unsurprisingly (you were expecting an FPS, perhaps?), apparently with elements of interior design.

The PSP is set to receive no less than three Idol Master titles (for real this time), set for release this winter. It may be more accurate to say three versions of the same titles, for “Idol Master SP”, as it will be known, will have versions subtitled “Perfect Sun”, “Wandering Star” and “Missing Moon”.

Some actual screens of the Tales of the Abyss anime have emerged, and information on the next two Tales game titles also emerges, though as both are for portables you will have to forgive a lack of enthusiasm on my part. Tales of Hearts will be released on the Nintendo DS in the winter, and on the PSP there is Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 2, also due in the winter.

“I wanted to see ladies underwear”. A vice-principal who used a Sony PSP, modified to include a camera, to take upskirt photos of schoolgirls on a train has finally had his long running string of voyeuristic excesses brought to a close.
We hear that the deputy headmaster (59) of a Nagoya technical college was arrested for violating public nuisance laws aimed at preventing such covert photography, though it seems this arrest comes late in his career of serial voyeurism – he apparently was caught for same in 2001, but managed to get off with just a pay cut. No details on whether this is a Sony authorised PSP accessory.

If ever a game sold more copies on account of cover art than of any other factor, フェイト/タイガーころしあむ/Fate Tiger Colosseum for the PSP here is a contender. Great cover, even if it is lions rather than tigers. The reviews are not bad, but spending time with the core works is perhaps more advisable. Figure version here.
