You can forget about merely being able to knock the “armour” off of the characters in Soul Calibur IV; it appears in fact you can force them (even ones possessing such improbable pantomime figures as Ivy) into battle in their very underwear, or in at least one case, completely naked.

Final Fantasy XIII to get a PC version? Yes, according to no less a source than Nvidia itself, unless this is some sort of misunderstanding; see below for their words.

Covered in sweet milk? “SRPG” Tears to Tiara, which is shaping up to be a masterpiece visual novel in my opinion, somehow managed to get a CERO B rating in spite of scenes like this, which truly is heartening. More below.

The much anticipated ティアーズ・トゥ・ティアラ / Tears to Tiara was recently released, and I braved the summer thunderstorms in a foray to Ikebukuro to pick up a copy; much to my surprise the kind folks at Bic Camera also saw fit to provide me with the preorder goody box, despite having not preordered or even bothered to buy the collector’s edition. Having had a chance to get into the game, I offer my impressions.

Hot on the heels of the news that Final Fantasy XIII will not be a PS3 exclusive, doubtless thanks to some great clinking sacks of Microsoft’s Windows revenue, is the newly opened Final Fantasy XIII official site. And on it is a very nice looking trailer, though little else.

Production staff for the anime have been confirmed (most notably the director has some involvement in Nanoha Strikers, and the writer was involved in Key The Metal Idol), but the cast is not yet finalised.

With the release of Tales of Vesperia imminent in August, for the Xbox360 at least, and the demo version already available for download, more details have emerged: Famitsu has a large number of gorgeous screenshots (the content is gorgeous at least, the screens themselves are the usual pathetically low res and over compressed little things we have come to expect from Famitsu) showing off new elfy character Judith, above, looking very appealing indeed.
The official site has also been updated with her info. All looking very promising.
I will omit the usual grumbling about the PS3 version not being announced yet. When?

The official site for 侍道3 / Way of the Samurai 3 opened recently and the game revealed is an interesting one; it is due for a Japanese release on the PS3 in the autumn, though there is no word yet on an international release, though it seems likely enough. For those unfamiliar with the series, Way of the Samurai is a non-linear free roaming action game set in Tokugawa era Japan, with a focus on story and sword action. The previous games were both rather good.
