With the news that the additions planned for the long-awaited PS3 version of Tales of Vesperia appear to have been present from the start, Bandai have been accused of betraying Xbox owners with the “exclusive” nature of the game’s Xbox release.
They recently issued an explicit denial that there were any traces of the new features in the original game, especially the new character. Fans are less than convinced…
This evidence is rather stronger than the lingering traces of pirate loli Patty present in the code:

The much anticipated PS3 version of Tales of Vesperia was recently announced, and of the many extras included in it the most notable addition is pirate loli character Patty Fleur.
However, a 2ch denizen who just happened to be browsing the compiled code for the game with a hex editor (let us not enquire too deeply as to why) has discovered evidence that she was in fact in the game from the start, in the form of mentions of her name alongside those of other characters.
This plainly casts doubt on her “new” status, and possibly suggests that all this was planned from the start?

The excellent 2D fighting series Samurai Spirits/Samurai Shodown looks set to get a new release on the Wii and PS2, as サムライスピリッツ天下一剣客伝 / Samurai Spirits Tenkaichi Kenkaku Den, although they seem to have unfortunately stopped short of making it into a sequel. It appears the previous games will also be included.
The only upgrades promised seem to be rerecorded voices and a colour editor, along online bouts for the PS2 and a minigame for the Wii – seems they got things the wrong way round there. Release is set for July 24th. I can’t help but think they would do well to put some more effort into this franchise. Story and screens here.
