This MAD combines a slew of NicoNico memes, popular videos and screencaps from famous anime with the seemingly unrelated Tokyo Disneyland version of the nightly Electrical Parade to create something that (as happens often with MADs) makes far more sense in its entirety than the sum of its parts would suggest.
Miku, Haruhi, Ronald McDonald and the well-known (to NicoNico users) gay porn actors inserted into many a video to irritate the watchers all make cameo appearances.

Sankaku Complex now boasts a complete English language interface to the extensive rankings provided by NicoNico Douga, encompassing thousands of videos, all of which are freely viewable from within Sankaku Complex’s pages using the Nico player, certainly a unique development for an English language site.
Please feel free to explore the new NicoNico rankings here.

We have received full embed permission from NicoNico Douga, which I believe is a first for an English language anime site, and quite possibly for a solely English language site too.
This took a fair bit of organisation, and a meeting at the Dwango (Nico) offices, so it is not hard to see why it is uncommon even amongst Japanese sites…
With this you can freely view videos from Nico embedded on our pages without an account or otherwise, and also you can freely post videos in the forums. Additional features are also planned.

2ch founder and male idol Hiroyuki is no fan of anime otaku it seems, and wasted no time in insulting them in recent comments made on NicoNico Douga (of which he is the boss), calling them “gross”, “annoying” and “unable to communicate properly”.
His comments were made in response to continuing demands that he allow anime threads on the “New Housoku” board, which he dismissed out of hand in a forthright manner:

Esteemed mangaka Kentaro Miura, known for his long running masterwork Berserk, has once again suspended serialisation of the manga, after only recently restarting it, apparently in order to play Idol Master.

Singer-seiyuu 中島愛 / Megumi Nakajima, famed as Ranka Lee and little else, has caused a NicoNico sensation in more ways than one, by uploading a charmingly amateurish, but extremely skilful and kira-laden, rendition of her single “Be Myself” in a spot of cunning marketing. A mere 32 hours after release and she has accumulated 180,000 views, probably a record success.
However, the storm of censorship she invoked from Nico’s management to quell insufficiently worshipful comments also caused something of a sensation…

An rather imaginative Macross F MAD, this combines the classic Ranka Lee Kira musical sequence with the chaos of NicoNico Douga’s commenting system – it is in fact a compilation of the most interesting ascii art comments made over various versions of the video, compiled together to create a complete AA version.
It should become clear once you’ve seen the video:

Keroro Gunsou has included some rather interesting parody material in the 234th episode; long suffering veteran Giroro is shown in a video player which resembles NicoNico Douga, with its trademark tickered comments, very strongly indeed. Even the comments are a studied Nico parody…
Unfortunately, despite the warnings to not upload the video to Nico, nobody has yet done so, so you’ll have to make do with the caps here.

A storm has erupted over two girls who filmed themselves in a pantsu exposing dance (below), with Japan’s holy Atomic Dome in Hiroshima, the remnants of a building destroyed in the atomic bombing of the city, as a backdrop.

NicoNico Douga’s fortunes may be turning once again, for we hear that the Japanese government, specifically the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, is set to put into action a plan which would enshrine in law special “cyber-districts”, where authors using commercially held copyrighted works in their creations would be legally allowed to ignore the usual requirements for permission and royalties.

Two great Japanese obsessions collide in these videos of a 10-year-old American girl, Maxine, convincingly cosplaying Hatsune Miku whilst recreating some of the more famous MADs to grace MikuMiku Douga.

NicoNico Douga’s dreams of world conquest may be over before they have begun, as it seems Google has acquired a service, Omnisio, which offers a strikingly similar feature set, including the ability to blanket videos in comments. The service is currently in beta on YouTube.
