Washinomiya, the real life location of Lucky Star‘s Kagami and Tsukasa‘s family shrine, received a flock of otaku pilgrims celebrating the Japanese New Years tradition of hatsumoude – visiting a shrine/temple on Jan. 1.
Good Smile Company, maker of Nendoroids and Figma, took the opportunity to join in by releasing limited edition Miko cosplay Nendoroids of the 4 main girls at the gathering, the latest of many such events to happen at the small town since Lucky Star turned it into a moe version of Mecca for otaku.

I was frustrated to see earlier that all the Japanese bloggers and even 2ch it seems were far too polite to take photographs of the “photography prohibited” pre-release Nendoroid Nagi-sama, but by way of a Chinese imageboard, surfaced over at Danny’s, you can see it above.

We’ve see some acomplished fan created Nendoroids previously, but this Jigoku Shoujo/Hell Girl Nendoroid goes the extra mile; you’ll notice that the creator has actually gone to the trouble of creating a completely authentic looking set of packaging (not for sale, it is said) for the figure… This is really fan made?
The previous Strike Witches, Ranka Lee and Touhou Nendoroids were all rather impressive, but this one seems to be aiming for something else.
