The limited edition release of the first Koihime Musou DVD, due on the first of October, is set to be accompanied by a “3D mouse pad”, or oppad as it is formally known, of northern veteran 関羽 / Kanu / Aisha.
Interestingly, Kanu seiyuu 黒河奈美 / Nami Kurokawa has opted to instruct on the use of her alter ego’s likeness, in a move sure to boost sales, though perhaps not the dignity of the character.

It’s not exactly clear what the intent is behind this; perhaps marketing? It looks like an effective ploy if so, if a rather traditional one. The contents do indeed look educational, however.

The latest addition to the successful Queen’s Blade crotch collecting game book franchise emerges, in the form of nothing less than a trading card game, Queen’s Blade: The Duel. The next Magic: The Gathering, only with oppai and loli? Or a tawdry cash in, soon to be forgotten?

In what may be a first, a regional variety of rice, Akitakomachi, as well as local strawberries, have had their packaging illustrated by talented female eroge artist, 西又葵 / Aoi Nishimata (Final Approach, Shuffle!, etc.), with the above tasteful illustration now gracing the rice packaging.

Shoujo manga is actually some of the most explicit manga outside of actual ero-manga, vastly more so than shonen manga and seemingly considerably more so than most seinen manga.

The recent spate of steam obscuration afflicting TV anime, which then goes on to get a erotically powered up DVD release, is a pattern Strike Witches is set to repeat, as we saw.
However, the suspicion that all this is in part a marketing tactic seems to get some support with the below image of a witch (Eila Ilmatar Juutilainen; easy to remember Finnish name there) sporting nipples, with the legend “DVD用です”, that is “For the DVD”.

Gurren Lagann merchandising seems to have two basic components, with the other one also being popular. Yoko still wins out by a mile, and this newly released “3D” mouse pad exhibits the reason admirably. Placing you wrist in the deep ravine caused by the two gel filled pouches is said to increase HP.
On sale now (¥4,000 limited run); see Mayoko-sensei, even larger, below… Nia flat version would be preferred.
