A nekomimi themed maid café in Akihabara will be holding a special “Toradora x Index” event next week, with the menu offering the likes of “Minori‘s Purin” and “Index‘s Donburi”.
The maids are sure to be dressed in appropriate cosplay, plus there is the promise of limited edition presents to customers, and even the opportunity to pay $40 to eat from the “Purin Bucket”, better known here as Minorin’s Raep Bucket.

In the recent 14th episode of Toradora, observers couldn’t help but notice Minorin‘s interesting choice of photograph when selecting which of the photos of the earleir culture festival to buy.

This is the best maid related image I have ever seen, well worthy of a highlight I’m sure you’ll agree, skilfully combining as it does several carefully portrayed moe structural elements: nekomimi, knee socks, maid cosplay, and of course fuming angry tsundere blush. Your own anime, with maids? The newest twist in the maid boom may be new maid café ぽぽぷれ/Popopure, where the patron is not only pampered by maids (or “メイドに萌えながら” as the article amusingly puts it), but also gets to lend their voice to a short anime produced whilst in the shop, with the customer able to watch the process. There are 3 characters available for voicing in the 3 minute anime, so if you are the ronery type you can get the maids to participate – marvellous. Naturally you also get a copy on DVD. Via Sankei.
