No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle, a free-roaming otaku hitman sim for the Wii, has attracted note for the quality of its in-game mahou shoujo parody moe anime (complete with gratuitous jiggle and nude transformation scenes), and its companion shooting game, both visible in the below video.

The premiere of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha the Movie 1st, has come and gone, giving otaku a bonanza of character goods, queue-making, and of course the wonderful chance to see yet another big name series receive a new theatrical adaptation.

Oppai anime Fresh Precure has attracted note in its twentieth episode for managing to satisfy both its core demographics, with young girls getting mahou shoujo adventures whilst 2ch gets full on tentacle molestation, a classic combination of genres it has to be said.

Singer-seiyuu Marina Inoue (Gurren Lagann’s Yoko, Maria Holic’s Matsurika) has already had her impressive art skills displayed here before, and she seems to have developed quite a taste for drawing as new art of hers continues to come online.
Inoue seems to be coming closer to fellow otaku idol Shoko-tan’s level of artistic accomplishment, although not nearly as disturbing as Shoko-tan’s own guro artwork…

Popular eroge derived mahou shoujo anime Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha is to receive what is being billed as its “4th series”, although the new production will actually be a comic, at least to start, a change which has surprised fans.
Less surprising to fans, but possibly problematic to some, is that the series will no longer be billed as “Mahou Shoujo” Lyrical Nanoha, but as 魔法戦記リリカルなのはForce / Mahou Senki Lyrical Nanoha Force, senki here meaning something along the lines of “Martial Chronicle”.

Children’s mahou shoujo anime Precure, aimed at primary school girls aged 4-6, has recently had its latest incarnation in the form of Fresh Pretty Cure; oddly, in addition to the target demographic, the anime has picked up a notable following of adult otaku, who lately have attracted attention to themselves with interminable debates over doujinshi and other weighty matters, conducted on the official boards.
