
A Chinese gaming rag, 掌机迷, one bearing a striking resemblance to Famitsu, has taken a distinctly Chinese approach to respecting copyright, by helpfully including the full ISO and similar data on its cover disc for the games it is reviewing.

All the latest anime magazine editions are giving centre stage to the presumed grand finale to Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch R2, with Lelouch’s imperial reign in no doubt. What’s more, the enticing poster above (full size version here), featuring an unclothed C.C. baring all, was published, exciting fans considerably.

In a development which has turned the heads of many gravure magazine readers, idol and manga magazine ヤングチャンピオン / Young Champion has crossed the unspoken boundary which formerly was the limit these magazines were loathe to cross: the latest issue includes a photo shoot with JAV porn star かすみりさ / Risa Kasumi, not in itself too notable, but we also hear that she modelled in what is technically termed “hair nude”, a term which assuredly does not refer to exposing a fine head of hair.

The editorial staff of adult game magazine PC Angel neo have issued an official statement in response to the call for a ban on adult games, and as might be expected they are rather scathing of it, if in a rather polite and restrained way (though any other sort of statement would doubtless be to cast oil onto the flames).

“Adult game players have their minds destroyed, they lose their very humanity”. With these words, from the recent petition to ban eroge, and their other initiatives, the Democrats seem to have provoked a storm of protest.
A mountain of such responses as “So shouldn’t AV also be banned?”, “Is there any scientific basis for this?”, “I’m a married woman with children who plays these games” are evident; I’m sure you get the picture, many are very annoyed, and seem more vocal than those advocating the ban (who seem to be limited to DPJ party hacks, strangely enough).
It remains to be seen whether this will truly backfire for the Democrats, although that does seem increasingly possible (not that there was any real chance of success in the first place).

The Japanese Diet is set to hear a petition for legislation which would effectively ban the vast majority of eroge and adult anime (and probably, by extension, adult manga, though this is not stated), as the petitioning party is particularly het up about portrayals of minority age females.
