Horo fans are aghast at the decision of the English publishers of sagacious wolf light novel series Spice and Wolf to dump the titular spicy wolf Horo completely in an effort to appeal to “fantasy audiences,” who presumably cannot be expected to buy anything without a scantily clad lady or dragon on the cover.

The latest and increasingly unawaited novel in the Haruhi series, 涼宮ハルヒの / Suzumiya Haurhi no Kyougaku (The Shock of Suzumiya Haruhi), by 谷川流 / Nagaru Tanigawa, looks to have been delayed yet another year, the second time it has been delayed.
It now looks as if three years will elapse before any new release in the formerly popular series…

Quality anime Akikan has attracted attention not only for its unique production values, but also for the bizarre treatment it metes out to its seiyuu. Above is the spectacle seiyuu 大久保藍子 / Aiko Okubo was reduced to, cosplaying a monkey whilst reading the ecchi bits from the original novel.

Tsundere light novel series Toradora! is confirmed as concluding in the tenth volume, to be released March; this is thought to coincide neatly with the ending of the anime, for an ending many are already praising for its discipline in refraining from becoming a long and drawn out franchise more interested in merchandising than in coherent narrative.
Of course whether the ending will be any good or not is another matter…

It has been known for some time that the author of the original Zero no Tsukaima light novels, ヤマグチノボル/ Noboru Yamaguchi, was originally a writer of scenarios for adult games, but now we hear that even the illustrator responsible for the design of Louise and company, 兎塚エイジ / Eiji Usatsuka, is in fact an eroge “graphicker” too.
It seems that for years he risked being sacked from his work at eroge maker Visual Arts with his secret moonlighting, in fact being uncovered with the aid of Wikipedia by one of the writers of Clannad.

Here we have a complete set of yet to be revealed (in the anime at least) characters from A Certain Magical Index, which as you know has an extensive series of light novels already published.
Some rather nice character designs look to be in evidence; considering the success of the series, might we be seeing these in future seasons?
