Magical nun anime とある魔術の禁書目録 / A Certain Magical Index finally airs, and the title looks to be very promising. Ample magical powers, drama, and comedy, along with some interesting nun stripping action, are brought together with excellent production values, making A Certain Magical Index an anime with broad appeal.

Closet otaku comedy anime 乃木坂春香の秘密 / Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu has delivered a favourably received service episode sure to broaden its appeal even further; in addition to the obligatory swimsuits and opportune gusts of wind there is plenty of restrained yuri, and the usual erotic antics.
It may not be about to challenge serious ero-anime, or hardcore pantsu anime, for the ero-laurels, but it is doing well considering its timeslot. Just how well? See below…

As if the last DVD didn’t have enough in the way of ecchiness, with the release of Kanokon DVD 2 the producers have truly excelled themselves, providing an anime which now boldly crosses the line…
A most entertaining development, and one I’m sure you will be interested to analyse in detail. See the below screens for details on just how far over the line, and just how boldly.

Magical nun action is not far off; とある魔術の禁書目録 / A Certain Magical Index, whose anime adaptation was announced earlier, is due to air in October, and details of the cast have also emerged. The most notable among them appear to be 佐藤利奈 / Rina Sato (Minamike, Bamboo Blade, Gurren Lagann),and 伊藤静 / Shizuka Ito (Negima, Gurren Lagann, TEXHNOLYZE), though it seems the leads go to lesser known seiyuu: (井口裕香 / Yuka Iguchi (underclassman C in Ghost Hound) gets the role of Index, the soon-to-be moe icon of the titles.
The title is fast developing into a media empire, with the original light novels now numbering sixteen, along with drama CD and manga works also out. Possibly the next Zero no Tsukaima?

On seeing these, I can’t help but wonder why they don’t just turn the franchise into a full ero anime and get it over with; they could abandon the pretense of restraint they employ at such evident pains. Will release August 25th, price a gold sovereign, sold here. This is just the latest in a long line of moves by Kanokon, an anime seemingly set on blurring the line between H anime and normal anime into total indistinction – not that I find their efforts displeasing.

One of the characteristics of anime is the high propensity for titles to be converted from one medium to another; this trend has been especially notable in recent years with a flood of eroge and light novel adaptations to anime. But what of the actual numbers, and the relative comparison? Easily answered, it would seem.

As has been explained, the DVD release of Kanokon has had a massive ero upgrade, and is now borderline H anime. A host of uncensored analysis of just how much of an ero-anime it has become is now available, and is collected below for your convenience and elucidation, in enormous detail. There is even some animation to drive the point home.
All that is lacking are details on what was included with the apparently even more ecchi LE DVD.

Ero comedy Kanokon has seemingly completed its transformation into a complete erotic anime with the release of the first erotically upgraded DVD edition: now nothing is left to the imagination, and as you can see from the earlier gallery, it was hardly tame to begin with; no wonder it was so popular with elementary schoolers. The Limited Edition release apparently includes even more steamy extras in excess of the normal release.
Poor Juno can’t show them uncensored, but rest assured the DVD is not subject to this restraint. Via the lovely NekoAreBlog – some more shots there.
