The news that the “Haruhi TV Anime” was set to air in April, thought by all to be either the long awaited second series or an almost unbelievably perverse marketing stunt, in fact does turn out to be a carefully worded piece of deception: it refers only to a rerun of the previously aired first season of Haruhi
Fans are predictably outraged, though it remains to be seen whether they will finally abandon the series, or will merely grumble and obediently commence purchasing should a new series actually emerge.

According to the latest commercial for anime rag Newtype, which had previously announced its announcement, the new TV series of the Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi will begin airing in April.
Fans are in shock, and are understandably having trouble accepting this news, but it seems genuine enough.

The news that Haruhi Wii dance game Suzumiya Haruhi no Gekidou’s opening day sales managed a pathetic 8,500 units, according to announced figures, has been greeted by fans not with horror but with derision.
It seems there can be no doubt now that Haruhi fans have dwindled precipitously, and that those that remain are more jaded than is convenient for the purposes of marketing to.

Kyoto Animation have earned the praise even of critical 2channers, for we hear that their rendition of a key scene (or at least one fans are particular about), above, is completely faithful to, and even improves upon, the CG original from the visual novel, which you can see underneath it.

The second episode of Clannad seems to continue in much the same vein as the first, with the consequence that fan enthusiasm is undampened. However, the addition of additional moe service, with the most memorable example being the cosplay visible above, seems to have only increased the delight felt by fans.
