Deceased illustrator 堀部秀郎 / Hiderou Horibe has been the subject of some unfortunate news, with his works being liberally plagiarised by Dengeki, who eventually apologised, but it is perhaps better we remember him as a talented illustrator whose promising career was cut short by illness, at the age of only 36. You can also see a cache of his homepage through the years.

Only the Major Arcana are as yet completed; it looks to be a little too difficult to adapt a series like Lucky Star to this end (not enough characters or themes), but it has been done with other series. The news that xxxHolic is to have its new anime (OAD) bundled with the 14th volume of the manga, due Jan. 16th, has been quickly followed by news that ツバサ / Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle is also set to get an anime DVD attached to the 26th volume of the manga, due Febuary.
Animation is set to be undertaken by Production IG; they both look to be 25 minute single episodes.
Call me a purist of sorts, but OAV/OVA has always been the acronym given to, well, an OAV. OAD sounds weird, and besides it's still a 'video' per se, just not a video on cassette.... More

On spying this selection of outstanding images gathered up by the hands of the Vippers, I must admit, I was at a loss – 佐々木 / Sasaki? A Haruhi character? And a boku-shoujo? From the novels I presumed – some research reveals her to be a Haruhi rival character, and a superior one at that.
In this gallery you can see more of her, and her alt-SOS-dan (周防九 / Kuyou Suou, with the long black hair, is in particular shaping up as the new Nagato it would seem), so please do convert.
Something of a Haruhi gallery before a flood of Nagato images commences; hopefully you will be able to find something new in here, even if you have been following the never ending stream of Haruhi art. I think I prefer her depicted with the rest of the SOS-dan, although this could just be because of some of the extreme quality visible in many of those images for some reason.
