
Funimation has released the trailer for the English dubbed American edition of the first of the Rebuild of Evangelion movies, “You are (Not) Alone”, the second of which recently hit Japanese theaters.
Fans who have watched the original trailers cannot help but notice the stark contrast in style between the two, and many are not amused…

Classic fighting game series King of Fighters is set to receive a grand Hollywood adaptation in the glorious tradition of Street Fighter and Dragonball.
The movie uses actors nobody has ever heard of, and in the best tradition of Hollywood dispenses with the game’s highly developed setting and atmosphere in favour of some story centring on mysterious multidimensional alien artefacts.

Professional oriental monk impersonator and Hollywood actor David Carradine was discovered dead under mysterious circumstances early this week in his Bangkok hotel room.
Bangkok tabloid newspapaper, Thai Rath, was one of the first news sources at the scene of the ongoing investigation and printed a front-page photo, which allegedly shows the actor hanging from a fixture in his hotel room, in what appears to be a wig and women’s clothing.

Martial arts superstar Jackie Chan has outraged lovers of freedom the world over, but especially in Taiwan and Hong Kong, with his galling statement that Taiwan and Hong Kong are “too free” and would benefit from some communist oppression, courtesy of Beijing.
In remarks to the press he asserted that “Taiwan and Hong Kong are too free, they are chaotic. Chinese have to be controlled.”

Two major anime titles, Ninja Scroll and Full Metal Panic, are set for live action adaptations and are nearing pre-production.
Ninja Scroll is to be produced by Leonardo DiCaprio (and Warner Brothers) headed company Appian Ways, whilst Mandalay Pictures has acquired the rights to Full Metal Panic.

In a move sure to please American and European fans of the Dragonball franchise, Twentieth Century Fox has decided to release the film Dragonball Evolution straight to the public, bypassing the routine screening normally given to reviewers.
The exact same tactic already seems to have helped the film’s Japanese release…
