Outer moe anime Haiyore! Nyaruko-san comes packed with yuri, moe, parody and even battle action, and has already been hailed as the pre-eminent anime of the season and even the impetus behind a Lovecraft boom – although its furious pace, which has seen it burn through an entire novel in only 2 episodes, has prompted plenty of complaints.

The popularity of Haiyore! Nyaruko-san has apparently triggered a Cthulhu Mythos boom amongst otaku, with sales of Japanese editions of Lovecrafts’ works soaring the instant the anime aired.
