Comiket 86’s first day has once again brought a wealth of the finest cosplay the nation has to offer, with cosplayers and photographers alike braving the blazing sun and mischievous winds.
With Steam Greenlight slowly opening the flood gates for Japanese gaming to enter Valve’s PC marketplace, a few notable titles have trickled in such as Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae, a high-speed arena-based slash’em up developed by Zenith Blue which debuted at last summer’s Comiket, featuring samurai schoolgirls wielding Japanese steel to cut down opponents in a blaze of panchira glory.
The final crop of cosplay from Comiket 85 arrives – and there can by now be no doubt that the intrepid cameras of 2ch have been probing the costumes of cosplayers more intimately than ever, although fortunately nobody much seems to mind…
Down 30,000 attendees on last year it may have been, but the 85th Comic Market seems to have filled the extra space they left with a flotilla of Shimakaze cosplayers and some of the most breezy outfits yet seen at a winter event…

The 550,000 visitors to Comiket 85 (down 30,000 on last year, although this is likely because the organisers have changed they method they used to count the numbers) have come and gone, their passing marked by a mountain of doujin passing hands and an awful lot of cosplay photography being posted online…
