Hmmm… don’t you use “-tachi” when talking about specific groups, and not the topic in general? Like “kodomo-tachi” meaning “those group of children/the children”, instead of just “children” as the plural form of child.

If it is so, let me say that I use that word simply for emphasis. Saying ”really” in place of ”friggin” would mean the same, but ”really” just seemed to lack impact and did not level to how much I love her.
