Veni… vidi…….. uh, okay, vici will take some time.

    • Oh, what are you practicing?

      • Ancient history. ^^ ”Veni, vidi, vici,” Julius Caesar said after he won in the battle of Zela in 47 BC. I came, I saw, I won/conquered. I just hope I’ll be as successful fighting my exam as he was fighting his enemies. lol

        • なるほど。Your warrior spirit will lead you to the massacre of the barbaric test sheets, I’m sure.

Another of my favorite sayings in Japanese is, 温故知新 (on ko chi shin) ”Learn the ways of old, to learn the ways of today.” I wonder it that means that if I learn iaijutsu I will be able to create a shockwave with more force than a bullet…

          • Haha, hopefully.

What an interesting proverb. Sounds quite reasonable to me.

lol. Ren-san, I’m sure that with your training you’ll become super saiyan one way or another.

            • Haha, thanks, 猫ちゃん.

Which do you like better, ancient Roman or Greek history? They both must be fascinating. I mostly only read about Greek history, as it was often related to the arts. But historically, the Romans seem more powerful and influential.

I’d love to hear your opinion.

              • Hm… It’s true that both are fascinating. However, Greece had something that Romans didn’t. And THAT IS SPARTAAA!

                *cough*

Now, seriously. I prefer Greece. I’m not exactly sure why. Ancient Greek history feels somewhat… more magical. It was an age of great gods and legendary heroes. An age of tremendous ”cities”, art and culture that was ahead of its time, yet with mythological taste to it.

While Rome is still interesting and nice to learn about, it doesn’t have that supernatural feeling to it. And a lot of its culture and mythology was taken from the Greek and other ones. (It’s true that the Greek one was not purely original either.) But you’re right. Romans were incredibly powerful and developed at their time and are still pretty fascinating themselves.

Oh, nice. You’re so educated in many ways. I’m glad to see that. ^^
