I have the feeling that they’re being heavily influenced by the UN,US and other outside forces. It’s a continuation of the same thing that happened in the Meiji era., ”trying to bring their culture more in line with pervading Western mores and thought”.

Japanese literature has always had loli defloration and rape as one of it’s central themes. The very first novel in the world ”The Tale of Genji” has multiple rapes and a 10 year year princess kidnapped to be raised as Genji’s perfect woman. I could list at least 10 more novels.

Akira Kurosawa’s 1950 movie masterpiece ”Rashomon” involves a rape and murder so it’s not something the Japanese public or the government is unfamiliar with.

Yet as Yuriphoria mentioned previously, Japan has one of the worlds lowest sex crime rates.

    • The ”child protection” scare racket was exported from the US to the rest of the world (Europe, Asia etc.), no doubt about that. Just like the post-9/11 security beef-up was implemented in airports worldwide. I mean, before these, people around the world are barely aware of the words Child Porn and Terrorism. Now these terms are like buzz words

      • Yeah , the US has always had that smug air of moral superiority about it (totally unwarranted and hypocritical by the way). Always wanting to import ”democracy and the American way” to the ”natives” whether they want it or not. Followed closely by the Christian fundamentalists who want to proselytize the world and put chastity belts on everybody while their leaders are continually getting busted for doing the things they tell the ”natives” not to do.
Almost sounds like we never left the colonial era of the 1800’s. Makes my head spin.

    • Mm..interesting note on the Tale of Genji. There is a copy in the library. Perhaps I will go read it.

    • I think it would be good if people made manga/anime adaptations of these stories in all their lurid details and volunteer them to be the first victims, and then bring up the written/live versions which are not punished for comparison to point out this hypocrisy.

      • They do say ”A picture is worth a thousand words”. I wonder what Gov. Ishihara’s novel ”Season of the Sun” would look like as a doujinshi ero-manga? Lol!
