Oh, it’s actual string. Looks like it’s two stands coiled around each other, those kinds of braids easily unravel. It’s kind of hard to explain how to do it, but it’s sorta of like untwisting a slinky.

But once you do get it back together, some superglue can hold it together. And next time it’s better to remove the figures head than the string.
