31 Members of “Tokyo Revengers Inspired” Biker Gang to Face Charges

A group of 31 deranged fanatics of the biker gang anime Tokyo Revengers will be facing charges for violating traffic laws after allegedly running rampant with 19 motorcycles in the streets of Osaka last year.

According to the Osaka Prefectural Police Department, the 31 members (ranging from men and women aged 16 to 20) have admitted to the charges, and several of them explained to the police that they were influenced by the popular anime Tokyo Revengers, which features a protagonist who is part of a middle school biker gang.

One member of the gang uttered “It was kind of scary like it is in the anime but it was still fun”.

The traffic violation occurred at around 2:50 a.m. on June 6th, 2021, on Japan’s National Route 26 in Otorinishimachi of Sakai, Osaka, and the 31 members mostly consisted of high school classmates and reportedly gathered through social media.
