  1. I already wrote about it in my deviantART journal, so I don't feel like writing everything all over again.

Let me start by saying that Malaysia is that kind of country that puts cartoonists in jail for voicing their opinion.

I wonder what uninitiated Malaysians would think if they find out that the Japanese studio that help animate their most famous legend was responsible for animating a cartoon show about girls flying around without any skirt or pants:

Have you heard of copy-and-paste? It's the nifty tool that's starting to come with newer computers.

  3. Of course the person is trying to promote it's DA. I already heard about this and I don't really see any problem with it. Why? You don't like Malaysia to hire a japanese company to do an anime/cartoon for them?

But of course the concept art is.... so-so.

  4. If they would see that picture they would realize what idiots they are not to live in Japan

Clicking the link to view my journal takes as much effort as clicking the link to view this thread.
If you were able to get this far, you shouldn't have any problems.

Nah, not because it's a Japanese company in general but because it's Gonzo, for reasons explained above.
    Just curious about their reactions.

Dude, whoever this person is he's not all that bad of an artist and he has over one million pages views. I can't imagine him needing to garner any more.

Unless they'll show some pantsu action (or worst) then there will be problem.

    Probably~

But any that know me well would know that I hang with a faaaiiiirly different crowd art style wise.

no offense to your stuff, you've got great technique it's just not very innovative work so I can't call myself a "fan" as you blend with the crowd a little too much. (sorry, critical analysis is critical, I don't mean to sound rude.)

    Probably not.

This might be no different than Inspector Gadget or The Real Ghostbusters where the Japanese studios involved merely did the animations according to the storyboards and have no say regarding which direction the story would go (assuming that's how it works).

Besides, the main female cast (except for two) seem to be wearing pants under their dress, decreasing the chances of pantsu-action.

  15. anywho anywho anywho!

    Man, this sounds... eeeesh...

Hiroyuki Kitakubo is going to have to perform a miracle to get this to work, and it sounds like he's not remotely up to it.

Also the art direction is... awful. Are they aiming it at little kids? What's that Anime-News-Network-kun? They are? nine to fourteen your say? Ah, well, that would explain it then.

  16. For some reason, I find myself hoping that this whole project will get canceled or at least get sucked into development Hell due to the meddling of the Malaysian government.
