  3. Like everyone else said, I think the second one looks cool.

I find Mandarin to sound very jilted; it just doesn't sound like it flows naturally from one word to the next. Cantonese is not so bad, though. Japanese just seems to flow better, and sound easier on the ears.

If I had to pick a language I didn't understand that I'd wanna hear the most, it'd be the crazy British slang that no one outside their own neighbourhood understands. Imagine K-On in Cockney Rhyming Slang~

It is considering I just finish watching it, mind you it doesn't have the best story but it does have a lot of action mostly its cheesy.

Hey, I'm just stating my opinion. Lots of languages sound like shit. The coolest one is German.

It's not like I an in disagreement. It's just language.

In my personal opinion, I find Japanese to be best.

    Kingdom one: Looks good

Are these from Mainland China, Hong Kong, or Taiwan?

It's in Mandarin, so it's most likely either Taiwan or Mainland China.

  8. The second video reminds me of a bunch of Chinese comic books my mom got me a little while ago. It was a bunch of different comics, but they all basically had that kind of style. They are all 100% colored. It's very beautiful work!

Japanese flows smoothly, which is what I like about it. Chinese just sounds really choppy all the time.

i like korean tagalog; german and russion o and swedish only thing i can really listen to lol

Lemme putz mein academe glasses and start deh lecture... 8-)

For the last time you gaijins and to comfort my butthurt Philippine ass, Filipino is the politically correct term for the Philippine language. Tagalog is the dialect where it was mainly derived from.

Although the two sound almost the same. Tagalog is like the Old Archaic English, meaning some of the words and structures used in that language are outdated and may sometimes even sound funny (may not apply to non-speakers).

Though I acknowledge that it was mainly our fault since we always interchange these two terms in daily conversations, and along the way, taught to non-speakers, it kinda stuck. But if you want to be formal around Filipino intellectuals, now you know.

  17. Chinese manga can be fantastic, as the government has little control over it and don't really care about it.

But TV anime is extremely controlled. Nothing with blood, non-cartoonish violence, love and sex. The goddamned broadcast and television ministry considers highschool romances “早恋”, lit. early love. So the only things we get are stupid animated works aimed at children which mostly involve furries and misshapen humanoid forms. They for some reason refuse to develop the many many beautiful locally drawn manga and insist on plagiarising Japanese and American cartoons.

Some of the more blatant copies,

大嘴巴的嘟嘟 (Big mouthed DuDu) & Crayon Shin-chan
    - This one received the most limelight because Crayon Shin-chan is one of the few Japanese productions to be legally distributed and translated in China. Unbelievably, it was broadcast by China's Central Television network (CCTV)

小猫啦啦 (Little Cat Lala) & Chii's Sweet Home
    - Another one by CCTV

五福鼠 (Five Lucky Mice) & Tom and Jerry
    - This story is actually about a cat and mouse country fighting, with five mice generals. There was no reason to plagiarize the art style other than seemingly for teh lulz.

厨神小福贵 (Cooking God Little Lucky) & Chuuka Ichiban
-The art style and story is quite different, but the many character traits and cooking "techniques" used are suspiciously similar.

    Golden Hero & Ultra Man
-Seriously? Seriously? Ultra Man's LICENSED in China. It's no obscure show, even the Chairman watches it with his son (he said so in an interview once).

There are also many many MANY others that I didn't bother to find. A chess one that copies Hikaru no Go, like THREE that rip off Pokemon and Digimon, some other transformers 3D crap and Captain Tsubasa.

However, there is hope. An animator who's returned to China after years of working in Japan has started her own circle named 大魔国 (lit. Great Magic/Demonic Kingdom). Their first work 弦月梦影 (lit. Crescent Moon Dream Shadow) is being released in 2011. The creator who's been nicknamed 魔王 (lit. Magic/Demon King) has worked on Soul Eater, FMA, Kimi ni Todoke and Sora ni Mani Mani. She describes herself as a fujoshi who's spent her whole career drawing bouncing boobs and panty shots in fanservice shows. Since no TV station would broadcast this show in fear of the government, it will be sold in an OAD fashion. The dubbing cast is yet to be confirmed.

    The three main characters:

Name: 唯一 Wei Yi (Lit. Only)
A child of mixed demon and human descent. Seems to be shrouded in secrets and is cautious about those around him.

    Name : 凯.亚伦 Kai·Ya Lun (Phonetic. Kai/Kay Allen)
The demon crown prince, set to be the next demon king. Outgoing and slightly irresponsible, is good friends with Wei Yi and Sel.

    Name: 赛尔维嘉 (Phonetic. Selvika/Servicka/Salworka)
A human aristocrat, perfect in many ways. Became friends with Kay and Wei Yi because he was attracted to their energy and hard working spirit.

The uniform is a mod on the uniform from a famous Shanghai High School (which also happens to be where the story is set). It's a rather cliche story about the struggle between demons and humans, but pretty much safe and foolproof.
