  1. I'm not sure about this. But I'm willing to see how it comes out.

  2. Why they're making such a big deal out of it is beyond me. You'd think adding some syllables could be done with just a patch.

it involves samples of an actual person's voice

And I guess they would have to tune the software, the sw was made for Japanese - i.e. Luka can speak English but it sounds bad, the sw cannot deal with it like with Japanese

    ...notice that "ssssssss"
    - even this song sounds somehow better sung by Miku:
The accent isn't the problem, it sounds bad because she doesn't have an English voicebank and the software isn't made for English - after they make a proper voicebank and tune the software you can enjoy Miku's Engrish at full. And it just wouldn't be Miku without Engrish :)

  6. seeing how the likes go up they could manage 39k in a month

  7. It's past 20k likes now and sits at 20 061. Considering that there haven't been that much news about it as far as I know, it's good.
We need to spread the word more though.

The whole point of the English voice bank is for her NOT to have an accent.

Her accent ruins the above songs, preventing them from being nearly as good as they could have been.

500miles miku is cute the way it is. else it woundnt be the miku i've know for some time now...

  9. It's going at roughly 500/day now. There's about 22k likes.

Out of interest though is that Miku has gotten some newstime in media:

And news about the giving day concert is spreading more thanks to this:

Those articles are nice, but they miss a point that I suppose some just don't like hearing.

Hatsune Miku, her singing is still evolving, it's still somewhat synth heavy.
The point is that organic singers today sound no better than her.

I've watched one too many videos on TV, and they are all using effects that make them sound synthetic. They also suck as singers.

The RIAA is becoming increasingly irrelevant as they are increasingly only serving to protect people who's music is so shitty it's not worth stealing.

I can't even recall the last new song I downloaded. It's been years since I heard anything worth wanting. Everything I grab these days is amvs which are really just repackaged old songs with edited video content.

Hatsune Miku is also easier on the eye. I don't really like watching sluts make out on stage during crappy pop music.

  18. There have been a lot of different news articles about Miku and the Giving Day concert. And as we all saw a few days ago, the Metro UK article actually went to print.

At the moment she's just passed 24k likes. On the 18th she had 20k, which means that she averages about 460 likes a day during this time.
If that keeps up she will have the 39390 likes in just over a month.
But by spreading the word more it can go even faster.
