  1. If you don't know or don't remember, a month short of a year ago, I made The US Political Party Thread to mark the one year anniversary of Obama's election. And also it's been a half-year since the thread, Monarchy vs. Republic: Today, I Become A Republican. Needless to say, A LOT has changed of me since then. I have have to thank sancom for a big part of this.

And one of these is the upcoming legislative elections, which I find bull. I find neither party attractive. And I've paying more attention of elections in other countries than in here. I'm sure many people here feel apathetic towards this election the same way. Which all of these reasons gave me an epiphany, Hows about I make my own ideology and political party? I did. So, in honor (and spite), I'm revealing it to sancom.

Now sancom, In order for it to work, I NEED HELP! One by one, I'll state a plan in my platform. And call for dialog about it. Suggestions, criticism, input, debate, anything is welcome. I be glad to have new members. If you think I need more look into this, criticism is welcome. If you are not sure, I will go into greater detail about my plans. And if you have a political philosophy, the more the welcome. EVERYONE WHO IS OF INTEREST IS WELCOME! Just make your post civil and no derailments.

    DISCUSS!

Hahah, it's too bad this calls for very US-based political knowledge, which I don't have much of. But I like the idea for the thread, so I'm going to lurk this like there's no tomorrow. C: *secretly loves politics talk*

Not really. I fell out of admiration towards the US system for a while. If fact, part of what I'm trying to create was in the way how other nations do business. So, people outside the US is welcome, in fact needed.

  10. seeing as you are no longer attracted to the existing two-party system and that you want a new ideology, this discussion will probably go beyond the classic linear left-right spectrum, you will need to look into multi-axis models, like this one:

Not just the party system, but the whole form and system of government as well.

  14. Well, I will just give a few directions to look at

-Look at the Athenian Democracy (not just the concept of Direct Democracy, see how they set it up)
-Why not consider adding 3 floors instead of 2 (Senate and House of Commons)?
-If the elected politicians are there to serve the people, why not make it mandatory for all of them to be videoed 24/7?
-Perhaps eliminate the party system? Each voting individually perhaps?
-Perhaps make voting mandatory (like Australia)?
-I heard that in America, criminals cannot vote, why not allow them all to vote (I personally believe they should be able to, its a democracy after all).
-Petitions able to bring legislation to the table (or referendums(like Switzerland)).

I won't say any more or I'll have copycats when I go for politics soon (probably in 2-5 years time).

  15. Oh, one more thing, if it was me, I would run against legal bribery (lobbying) in America.

I'm afraid you won't be getting my vote. But good luck I suppose.

Without talking forever about specific polices it's because I am a free-market conservative that realizes a republic is best and not a direct democracy, the masses are to stupid to run a country, that is why we have educated politicians.

Really now.....So you're saying that Athens when it cast away its timocratic government(basically a plutocracy but with a few variations), was a shithole because every citizen was basically actively participating in it? The co-father of western civilization was a land run by idiots, that makes a lot of sense.

Lets not forget about Switzerland, they look pretty content and prosperous as well, Switzerland is a semi direct democracy and yet how can it be that Switzerland hasn't exploded yet? After all, it is run by the masses, but enough of that, I can see where you are coming from, Americans are pretty stupid and thats the truth. The typical European is educated so of course direct democracy is not suitable for Americans, only a plutocratic government is and after all, who needs to listen to cries of the poor and the weak when there is money to be made.

(Just an extra bit, Switzerland ranks higher than USA in business competition, actually it pretty much ranks higher than USA in everything except military and stupidity.)

  20. Anyways, chanblog, when are you going to post your thoughts? You haven't stated what you want to change or remove or even what you stand for.
