I know this is an obvious one, and it's been said before, but Final Fantasy. I was listening to some FF OST's the other day. Just had it playing while I was doing other stuff. And while I was listening, I started feeling nostalgic and wanted to play again. If a game's music alone can make you want to play the game, then I guess that's a victory.
Oh and probably the best video game song of all time.

Half of the reason for watching fairy tail is the epic Celtic Prog Metal sountrack that scores it.

No videogame music thread, and I MEAN NO VIDEOGAME MUSIC THREAD, is complete without mentioning King of Fighters' arranged versions from '96 to 2000.
This song both sadness and desperation for the main character, but sadly wasn't in the game itself(was used in the trailer). Some of the most accurate representation of a character's persona.
