Them all ending up in near similar or even geographically similar post secondary is very unlikely. Probably the reason that there is so little of 'after high school' evolution of anime story lines.
Other than them performing on summer breaks etc I guess it is a tad difficult to justify.
Sucks.
We never get to see anime school girls get old enough to have boy friends get drunk at parties and end up fucking drunk and fucking as well.
Oh well the otaku freak crowd would have a total mental break down to find out Mio had a boyfriend and liked giving him blow jobs.
Interesting point you brought up for the high-school setting.
It baffles me like nobody's business. Why must the majority of them be in the high-school setting? I mean, Love Hina as the anime that popularized harem genre, starred a guy who are few years past school and is trying to go to university(ie. NOT IN HIGH SCHOOL).
I don't mean that we should force the makers to follow their story to their graves. I just think that Houkago Teatime as a band, is interesting. They should show the band all the way until they call it quits(current most likely scenario) or become well-known nationwide(best-case-scenario).
Will Yui be able to resist cocaine and not end up washing her mouth with a buckshot?
Will Mio and Ritsu just confess their lesbian affections for each other already?
Will Mugi's parents approve if she decides to pursue band career, being the 'ojou-sama' that she is?
Will Azusa last? Or will she get fed-up with her bandmates that she quits to start her own, more jazz-affiliated band?
Their love life? Their hardships?
....Wait, I'm asking for too many nice things.
