    # 2010-06-24: KRP haluaa käyttää pakkokeinoja vääriin mielipiteisiin
Keskusrikospoliisi on antanut lausuntonsa [hare.vn.fi, rtf] käynnissä olevaan lapsipornoakin koskettavaan lakihankkeeseen jossa KRP esittää omia näkemyksiään.

There's a new law in the works in Finland to give more protection to children from sexual abuse. The Finnish police has given these comments to the lawmakers:

The new law does not include a requirement for the pictures to be real anymore, so it would be possible to block sites distributing 2D loli material.
Make participating in discussion which can be viewed as having a positive attitude toward children having sex could be made a criminal act (meaning jail time).

Naturally, they're also planning to criminalize just viewing (not saving) there pictures.

This is all very interesting to SanCom readers since obviously there are often pictures of underage imaginary children in the news posts, and the attitude towards them having sex is positive in the comments. A double whammy that could hit even people who hide mature content.

  2. Finland following suit after Sweeden. Is there any place in Europe that isn't becoming this fucking retarded?

"Naturally, they're also planning to criminalize just viewing (not saving) there pictures."

What happens to those that get hit with a random popup that may contain something of that content, i guess they'll get thrown in jail unconditionally even if it wasn't intentional huh? I've seen some pretty crazy stuff on random popups before, from unlikely places too.

Oh well, just another place in Europe that i can add to my *Do not visit list*.

I'm envious of the old days when countries were worried about more serious things, rather than sucking the dick...sorry "copying"...other countries policies and not being unique. Maybe we would benefit as a race to be blasted back a couple centuries so we don't make the same stupid mistakes.

    Heh

I read that as "just one wrong click a you're aroused."

A very provocative thought to be sure.

There's plenty of more immediate problems. Thing is, most of those more pressing issues require serious thought and tough decisions to be made, with much less of a guarantee to boost a politician's coffers or election year popularity as passing broad, blanket legislation against the evils of lolis.

Aye its really sad that people won't go for the hard stuff like curing more diseases and helping rid of poverty instead of fighting imaginary characters. Priorities of the human race is a clusterfuck of backwardness and stupidity. I bet we could turn alot of stuff around if we publicly executed politicians as an example so they learn to do their jobs correctly...not try to banqrupt every poor person to fill their own pockets, it verges on terroism but w/e its fighting fire with fire. Cause with current punishments (if they even get punished), politicians don't seem to ever learn and steadily become worse.

Are you sure this would lead to the blocking of websites? If I'm not mistaken, internet censorship is heavily looked down upon. Australia has internet censorship going on for porn, but the Human Rights Watch are keeping a close eye on them. The truth is that once the government has the possibility to block websites from their country's viewers, the switch to political censorship (e.g. blocking websites that are critical of the government or websites that expose things like police brutality) is small.

I imagine it's going to be difficult for them to pass the law on forbidding discussing child porn, too. Such a thing is, in essence, speech censorship (read: limits freedom of speech and expression), which is against the constitution. Then again, I don't know anything about Finnish law. But such things as preverntive censorship aren't allowed in any developed western country, so I assumed that Finland is no exception.

Nin, blocking the websites hasn't been a big deal so far because it's voluntary for the ISPs to implement it. But it is reality, with sites such as 2ch.ru being blocked for having a real CP picture in the past.

This kind of blocking is not a Finnish thing, it's a Europe-wide initiative.

...Really? I'm very surprised to hear that. Finland is the only European country I've heard of using (or planning to use) internet censorship. Well, Russia too.

ISP-level censorship is common. But the kind of censorship mentioned in the article is the kind that is issued by the government, and backed by the law.

[Edit] Oh right, I forgot German internet censorship which forbids denial of the holocaust.

  16. I thought this was a disease that mainly affected the English-speaking world, but it seems the Finns have outdone us all. Making talking about something and expressing opinions a crime! It's doubleplusungood!

Hey, lots of Finns have guns, right? You should have a rebellion and overthrow this government that no longer believes in free speech!

If you are talking about recent school massacares, I suggest using term "Hieronta". It is term that only intelligent life forms know of.

  18. As i said before it seems to be afflicting almos exclusives "first world" nations like the u.s. canada and urope. BTW the u.s. seems to still be in ambiguous territory since it was not for lolicon per se but for obscenity that they got handley course with bush's guys in charge now in the supreme court field day for our enemies.
