It pains me to say that, since I actually like the culture of Japan and have friends from there. I haven't read anything that convinced me of Japan's complete innocence and a better alternative to ending the war. You can try and show me evidence for the contrary, or pull a Japanese-wingnut and say things like the Rape of Nanking and Unit 731 were hoaxes.
In the end, the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were victims not only of the American government, but of the greed and pride of their own country as well.

yes but propaganda is hilarious. Historically it's so informative about the motives of the sides spewing it. I have loved studying historical propaganda for years. I love when countries declare victory and then sign over half their land and a bunch of money to the "loser"

So would the Japanese save or lose money if they had to create and use their OWN military for all things? I think the military is a huge thing holding back america. We dump so much money we could be spending on economic evelopment helping countries that don't need or do not want us.
