Repercussions of EqualityNow's actions.

  1. Equalitynow is not solely responsible. The UK parliament and Unicef were involved as well.

    -EDITED-

Okay just as Artefact said, it's not the end of the world. EOCS isn't part of the government, it's just a self regulation group. There are others, and what we can expect is for some of those under EOCS to shift to other review boards in order to publish their games. The amount might diminish but it will not vanish altogether. Besides, doujin soft aren't covered by boards like this.

Sorry for helping spread the hysteria.

  2. I knew it wasn't true!

The google translation was crude, but what I made out from it was what you and Artefact confirmed.

These people have no real power, they are like PETA going against KFC.

As far as i am aware UK parliament has never put pressure on Japan to stop producing the games. The only involvement that parliament has had is getting Amazon to stop selling the games to the UK. It's just as bad, but you imply that it's the UK that's forcing the ban in japan.

Saying that EqualityNow is out for anything other than control and attention may be arguable, but saying that they have any more power or influence than PETA is laughable and giving them far too much credit.

Lets start a petition! It's not much, but it at least shows there are people who care.

http://www.petitiononline.com is the easiest place to do it.

But I think this should be properly organized and be bilingual. Artefact, thats your cue!

Online petitions are just made to make you think you're doing something great. It's really an extension of the government to satisfy the masses, and keep them the least motivated.

Back in the day people used to go to public events, door to door, actually get out and get them signed.
What happened to the revolution era? It got quashed by the Vietnam era.

If you want to incite change, visit a convention with a paper petition, join your local government, and submit a letter to the editor to a paper or two.

    Online petition, indeed.
Fight for what you believe in, if you care!

hmm... It's hard enough to imagine most people showing their faces in support of such material, even if it really should be protected by law. But I see what you mean.

  8. Well I don't really care, sucks to hear that even if its not true...

Also, why ban all hardcore hentai games when there are actually 1000's of JAV that caters more explicit stuff than any other hentai games out there? I mean I remembered seeing beastiality, BDSM, and many other shit...
Oh wait, because hentai has loli in them they get banned. Fuck....

What i'm implying is that those events had an effect as well. I was stating that this was supposedly a response to the culmination of "western world" efforts to "protect the children" and "to promote gender equality"

    Gender equality where?
I certainly don't see it even with the things they are doing, there will be men or women on the unequal side, you can't change that.

  11. There are a reason men and women are not equal. If we were, in america they would have to sign up for the draft as well (and that is one fight I have yet to see any feminist take) and even use the same restrooms as men (after all we are all equal and the same so who cares right!)

Life isn't fair; if people think it is, they need to be smacked back into reality. Not sure I want to touch on the whole feminist issue though, I see that getting a little hairy with my personal views on the matter.

Nah man its all cool go ahead and discuss your idea though I question where you get life isnt fare from me just saying if they want equality they should start with the smaller stuff like the draft before going to bigger things :)

Well life never was fair. And i don't see how they can achive equality if everyone wants to control someone and not looking how to benefit both. The social matter is to big to change everyone into equals.I mean they would have to control people how to live.

I do also agree if we would be equal that we would use the same toilets XD

Apparently you haven't been following the events that led up to this [i.e. Rapelay and Equalitynow namely] judging from your response. Those events were what i was referring to.

  17. Ah didn't know what repercussion meant, just translated it.
Otherwise i have been following those events.
Certainly equality now did do a couple of things good.
