  1. Okay i'm not sure how many of you have read it yet but they've done something worse than even mangafox and onemanga they have removed almost EVERYTHING that means no negima no bleach naruto one piece hell even KODOMO NO JIKAN is gone. here is their official announcement i copied.

We hoped it wouldn't come to this, but due to mounting legal pressure, we have been advised to remove all series serialized by the publishers in the coalition. This was a very difficult decision to make, and one we did not take lightly. Unfortunately this means we have had to remove the majority of our library, however we have been able to retain some manga, as well as most of our manhua and manhwa. We will be shifting the focus of the site more to manhwa and manhua (Korean and Chinese manga). For some of you, this may be your last visit to MangaToshokan, but before you leave we would appreciate it if you could fill out a short six question survey that we are going to share the results to the publishers. If nothing else, we hope it will make them aware of the consequences of their actions. Also if you could pass this survey on to other people we would appreciate it. Again, we apologize for this, but we don't have any other options at this point.

So seeing as this is running rampant what will you guys do also do you guys know any other good sources?

  2. Farewell managatoshokan...I really need an alternative site that still hasn't been banned by the coalition.

  4. I buy my manga... and don't give me that crap about it being to expensive or you have no money...

I have no money and yet I still get my manga when i want it... except if its published by Viz Media, then I get it after a few months

Also couldn't you all just download them like all the other pirates, yargh

I'm sure a lot of people buy the manga they really like, or at least I hope they would, but generally I only like to buy series once I know they're finished. I don't want anything where the author dies, it never ends even after a million volumes, or it just turns to crap in the middle.

Manga viewing sites allow you to find new series you wouldn't know about. It's why publishers outside Japan don't need to spend a lot of money advertising.

That's if your country has a complete library of manga. It won't suffice if say, my country only sells idiotic manga titles and half-assed translations. Besides, the manga that I keep tabs on will never reach foreign shores for the next 5 years or so.

Although I agree with you DL'ing them instead.

  8. Well, that's unfortunate. I don't blame publishers for wanting to protect their product, but it still sucks for the general populace.

  9. Looks like I'm going to have to go through my manga RSS feeds and find which ones I need new sources of. Again. Did it before when loads of stuff was removed from Mangafox.

  10. "The majority of our library" - libraries actually purchase the books they hold and have publisher permission.

My sentiments exactly man they've gone WAY beyond any other sites to accommodate to the extent of even unlicensed material such as sailor moon and kodomo no jikan and koe de oshigoto. If it's from japan it's probably gone.

He's right. If they physically own it, they can archive scans as backups.
