Junior Idols - Legal venture that has gone too far?

  1. Off-topic:

Yours was one double-post I deleted Terra, out of curiosity, did anything unusual happen when you made that post?

I remember the server being a bit laggy around the same time you did that post, and I'm wondering if the double post problems are related?

  2. Yes Quen. It's been getting really slow and laggy nowadays. When I clicked "add post", I was taken to a "403" (I can't quite recall) error page. I hit the back button and posted again, and that's when I got the double post.

Maybe it has something to do with the underwater cables again?

  3. Perhaps Interpol is raiding the SC servers on grounds of public indecency!

    Thanks, sorry for the hijack.

  4. That picture is an incredibly obvious shop.

As for the lag, I'm looking into it...

  5. Hmmm...

The child doesn't look like she was harmed in the process. But it's a tricky thing to deal with. Where do you draw the line?

I'm sorry, but the fantasy of bondage far outstrips the reality. And as far as I'm concerned, 2D loli bondage doesn't do anything for me anyway.

As far as the Japanese turning a blind eye to some sharp practice, well... who gave us the Nanking Massacre? It'd be wrong to not point out that other people have done pretty much the same throughout history. So long as there's a benefit, consideration, or instant gratification in return for it people will almost always do such things.

The ropes and gags look obviously fake, yes. But what are the odds that the very same picture was not produced by amateurs, but by the same gravure company and officially included in one of the idol books? Wouldn't most of the idol books sold in Japan be works of "shops"?

Even if it was just fan-made (correct me if I have misused the term), what would happen to the maker of this shop? After all, it's "fake" and the girl was not actually harmed in any way. But still... it's a bit too far.

I'm currently lost for words for now. 1.39 am over here.

  8. huh now that you mentioned it i went backed and looked at the pic and yeah the rope and stuff do look cg or something.

now she just looks a little unsettling and creepy

  9. Y'know, the "Junior Idol" industry is a little questionable, but it's pretty harmless as far as I'm concerned. Why worry about photos like this that are obviously staged and not overly upsetting to the child when other countries have huge child drug abuse problems or child prostitution rings? I do think that the juxtaposition of Japan's porn censorship laws and their perpetual need to push the envelope on things like this is a bit odd...

It makes me wonder if Japan actually feeds on international outrage and sensitivity. Like when they released Resident Evil 5 trailers in their most "questionable" form.

What's so questionable? It is a shitty region and black zombies need to be shot just as much as white and asian zombies. The only good zombie is a dead zombie.

Also back on subject. Japan needs to catch a predator.

  16. Actually considering on another completely unrelated site I frequent, Chris Hansen's name gets thrown around like a football at the Super Bowl, I find it odd he rarely gets mentioned.

Interestingly enough, countries with fewer porn restrictions have lower rape statistics in general -- which that article on UNICEF's decrying in Japan pointed out.
