Equality Now

Ha ha, well said, my son. I have sent them a letter myself too.

    Dear Equality Now,

Hello there, My name is Cairn Russel. I have heard that you people have now decided to pay attention to hentai. I have come to tell you that what you are doing is not appropriate. According to the research that I have done, as the years pass and pornography availability increases, the amount of sex crimes rate have decreased significantly. Why is that? Because people can live out their fantasies without having to perform the action in reality. However, at certain times when a person decides to perform the action in reality after playing certain video games, but it is not the entertainment that is at fault. The person is the one at fault. If the person was not responsible enough to control their desires, then obviously there was something wrong with the person from the very beginning. Please attack more serious problems in the world like child prostitution or solving the problems in your own country first. I personally oppose censorship because it is a needless curtailment of freedom of expression/speech. To protect women from rape or abuse is one thing, but to protect fictional characters is just absurd. Please think of the consequences. With hentai gone, more people will lose jobs and more money will be lost. Right now, we are facing a economic crisis and we cannot afford to have more unemployment or bankruptcy. Thank you for all your time.

    Sincerely,
    Cairn Russel

1.Too much money and jobs at steak

5.Not to mention the amount of money and jobs lost.

Not that I am defending Equality Now.. but I am afraid I must disagree with some of your points.. i.e. 1 and 5...

The hentai/eroge market is a minuscule part of Japans GDP.. and people who work for such companies definitely don't earn a lot..

+ Some could argue that the Japanese actually lose money.. due to the opportunity cost caused by the market.. Many people who draw doujinshi may have the potential of doing far more skilled jobs.. but instead they choose not to.. due to social pressure, depression blah blah..
The opportunity cost in this case is difference between what the artist could potentially earn and what they really earn ~ This could be said for the many other various jobs in the market such as programmers ~

Yes, but finding jobs are more difficult nowadays. I have a sister that can't even seem to find even the simplest jobs due to the economy. And even though They do find jobs, I doubt that it will pay more than their last job. Btw, My name is Ridley Timberlake. Nice to meet you. xD

I would make one right now, but honestly I'm too lazy. XD Guess what? I've discovered 2 effective ways to fight off the evil feminists.
    1. Boycott their business and don't make any donations
    2. Find out who their sponsors are and send them mail too. I found out that "Joss Whedon" is one of them.
With all of their money gone, their organization will fall and we will have our victory dance. =D

no, you have no idea what youre talking about. like anyone here ever sent any place money other than figma or good smile.

that whole "send their sponsors letters" isnt going to work anyway. we are the corrupt pedophiles that must be vanquished by their holy crusade after all. this would just turn into cannon fodder and good publicity because they turned down our horrible kind.

We aren't against feminism in any form. We are against censorship. Anyone is more than welcome to join us. The spam template letters for everyone to use are almost done.

I personally sent a letter of my own (it was so poorly written that I want to flog myself for it) asking what will be achieved by banning the rights of female artists to create fictional BDSM. I'm still awaiting their reply, but they assured me they would contact me (if it takes more than 2 weeks I'ma have to call them again). A little hint though while writing your letters . The more you insult them the more they will ignore your complaint and simply deem you mysogynistic.

You got a reply? My son and I have sent them our letters too, but they were a month old and still no response. We didn't even curse or anything. If you're interested, both the letters are both posted on page 5. My name is Cairn Russel. It is a pleasure to meet you all.

No I haven't and I have called them multiple times. They said they needed more time. I'm willing to wait fourteen days before I send a complaint to the charity commision.

Oh and to Endoh Mimi, one ban will lead to another. Have you not heard of the domino effect? Ever since Equality now and Unicef started banning H content, the EOCS started banning ALL fetishes and the queen of sweden also decided to ban loli. So know your facts right before criticizing anyone. Who knows? Eventually the feminists may start to ban ecchi or even normal animes with a small hint of "degradation" will be banned. Don't underestimate the stupidity of corrupt politicians and feminists.

Although your facts maybe slightly off, in the end these groups will want ecchi banned. Love Hina, DearS etc will be a thing of the past due to "paedophilia" and "stereotyping women". This fear is what drives me, and no, no matter what you say or promise to me I won't change my mind. A politician can't tell me what the next elected party will do. It's like guessing where and when the next tornado will appear on earth via the use of spinning a wooden stick.

Well, if they did that, then theres gonna be a riot for sure. Hopefully, they will lose the war with the eroge ban and we will have our freedom again. They assume Japan is a very "dirty" place because eroge originated from Japan. However, the statistics prove that they are wrong. Even though it is difficult to report rape or abuse in Japan, the statistics are significantly lower that the US. I mean REALLY LOW. These so called Feminists lack sufficient evidence and can prove nothing. Not to mention that the UN has already got their hands full with more serious issues like the economic crisis or North Korea. Anyways, I got to go to school. I will see if I can find more info later. Bye Dad. =D

I am frightened that they might 'censor'/'ban' nekomimi.. and Horo does look pretty young.. they might use the excuse that she looks young, hence she is a child.. ignoring her actual age ~_~..

but in the end.. with the last shred of hope I have with this messed up world.. I pray that the politicians have enough common sense to know that there is nothing wrong with anime and manga..

I am also holding on the fact that the anime and manga sector is a pretty large part of Japan's GDP.. and if they attempt at banning 'degradation'.. they are potentially losing millions/billions of yen..

but then again.. looking back at history.. and what pointless morals and ethics has done.. it might not happen now.. but it might happen in the future if we don't do anything about it ~

Riots? Are you kidding? People are gladly giving up rights all the time. The truth is that people are too stupid to truly appreciate the idea of "freedom". Before that happens, we'll all be back in chains again.

The UN is split into different sub organisations. They aren't going to stop or give two tosses about what happens in NK.

The UK already has a law saying you can't depict illegal sexual things in the form of writting or pictures.
