  3. Something about Rinko really gets me. At first glance, normally I wouldn't find her type that attractive, but she's somehow reached my heart.

LOL!!! Seriously, this game, if it comes out, would be the only reason I'll get a DS Lite

I love Manaka because of the pony tail factor, but if I had to pick between Manaka and Rinko, I'd say Rinko because not just of her short hair, but her calm, mature, not to mention intellent stature is moe enough for me.

Oh yes, I like Manaka for that factor as well, but a tennis player? I've been around most sporty girls and while most of them are nice to hang out with, many are not that interesting once you take the sports out of them.

I dunno about personality/intelligence of Rinko as I have not played the game yet so I can't possibly 'like' her just because she 'looks' intelligent. Thats horribly discriminatory :D She does have a calm look though but I'm not a fan of boyish cropped hairstyles on girls.

Seriously, my own hair is even longer than hers...and mine's not even half of Nin's length

Unfortunately they are taking forever and one begins to wonder if they will ever finish... but beggars can't be choosers.

They also have a sort of wiki that keeps track of the current status of the project.

  6. will be waiting for the translation to be completed. Hopefully it can run on an emulator =)

I'm actually fairly surprised so many people voted for Rinko Kobayakawa. I had thought she's the least popular character after all that articles & news about Nene and Manaka

  7. I think it can run on the emulator, at least i think thats where the menu translation screens came from.

I'm guessing cultural differences plays a big part in that. From what I've seen of Nene, she seems like a yamato nadeshiko type so it would make sense that she would be the most popular of the three over in Japan. However, her character type doesn't seem to do as well with westerners. Characters like Rinko on the other hand are usually pretty popular with westerners.

  9. I don't see any reason why the finished product wouldn't be able to run on a standard emulator, it seems like they first dissect the raw rom then after they translate everything will be putting it back together as a rom again. The only experience I've had in this was when I was waiting for a guy to finish translating the new Pokemon Gold. He went through the same routine... unpack, translate, repack into a rom. After it was all done, it played fine on DSemu.

  10. You can't really expect to play this properly on an emulator. The whole point is that your "relationship" is in real time, including special events and so forth, so you need to be "on call" as much as possible - thus a portable console is the ideal means of enslaving players.

If you aren't at your computer and running an emulator 24/7 you may get dumped.

In any case this is turning to piracy, which is unwelcome.

  11. Running it on a emulator, even if it works, still means you got to figure out how to make it receive instructions from a microphone. Damn...

  12. I didn't know so many people liked Rinko (including me). When I began playing this, I originally thought that I would like Manaka better. That was just based on appearance. But the moment Rinko popped up, her personality hit me pretty hard.

    Where's my Love Plus papercraft!?!

THANK YOU someone who knows its real time.
How can you translate something like this?
when the AI can change and flip and dialogue can change and blah blah
unless you know japanses IMO the game is gonna be useless and you prolly
actually only be playing like maybe 50% of it.

you come out better learning partial japanese in 6months with rosetta stone then waiting for this game to fully be ready. not only that you prolly gonna wanna play the 2nd game. just easier imo to learn Japanese :P then wait years and years for hackers to translate it.

  14. just wondering, can a normal DS Lite play it? Or do I have to mod it to some language/region code setting?

Sorry for the lame question, I'm totally ignorant about hand-held consoles

  15. if it were to ever reach these shores it would have to be limited to only text translation, we don't want them to bu ruined by crappy voice dubbing.

Well like I said, its not all that complicated to translate it. There is a large set of ingame text, and the ai just chooses what to say from that text. Keep in mind also that the girls often repeat themselves, so its not the translation thats the problem. Its just the unpacking. Like I said I could probably have the thing translated, I just have no idea how to unpack and repack the rom sucessfully

    QFT

If it ever does get an english release then that would be the worse thing for them to do (especially if they don't let you choose between english and japanese audio).

oh no, that cant change, at least not as far as know. Just gonna have to learn some japanese for that part. But for the most part you dont have to know complicated things, just 1 or 2 word answers at most. Im pretty sure there has to be a guide on what you can and cant say somewhere, or hell if you understand what shes asking maybe you can just look up what to say on some translator or the other
