Officially I'm gonna come out and say: I DON'T get the Lolithing. I see some of you dudes go off about it and I'm like "Different Strokes, I guess". It all boils down to what turns you on I suppose.
I like 3-D and yet I guess due to some right & left brain 'alignment' I am able to enjoy 2-D and simply convert it subconsciously into a 2-D rep of a 3-D object. I can use my 3-D sense to love a 2-D object using spatial analysis, the human voice performance, and the 'In Motion' Rule. Thus I am able to be turned on by 2-D. Like with say Orihime or Asuka.
The Loli thing is lost on me - yet, I do find paradox in cutesy characters to be amusing. I.E. Chiyo-chan is meek, cute, impossibly adorable and yet I feel it's hysterical if she had an Uzi or was giving the finger or did something very violent with an Axe....cause she's soo cute! I am NOT 'turned on' by this image but I'd love to wear it as a T-Shirt or something. I love LOL- cats and cute things doing 'nasty stuff' for humor or Iconoclastic imagery but I never 'sexualize' it....Now, Chiyo-chan at 18 with boobs and women's figure still with the same pig-tails and wide cute eyes....That would 'turn me on'.
I didn't like Anna Paquin in "The Piano" or Lacey Chabert on "Party Of Five" or Emma Watson in "Harry Potter" or Kirsten Dunst in "Interview with the Vampire"....until the got the bodies of a women (boobs, facial definition, a figure, a sexy ass)- Yet!!! when there were 12 (or whatever) I could tell they would GROW UP to be total Foxes...then again sometimes that's obvious who's gonna be 'HOT' when they get older.
I never understood the attraction of Loli's but I suppose the artwork or character design is objective to the viewer. To me Asuka & Rei are 17 (in my head or fantasy) so are Mugi & Mio & Eri Sawachicka. I'm not passing judgement - But I am answering the thread question. I don't get the gay thing either - why some people are 'wired that way' but who am I to judge.
Below are pic examples of "Iconoclast Cuteness" - I would wear these as a T-Shirt if I could- just for conversational pieces....The face on the "Fuck You" girl makes me laugh....Yet, others would 'Sexualize' her. I guess I am a True Moe fan (as I am protective of my favs)
