When I was little, 5 or 6, my family was given a computer by a friend.
I had to learn MSDOS prompt in order to play Tank Wars 3.2

Too bad Princess Maker was never officially released over here. Anyone who grew up on Princess Maker would be the most kickass child ever.

Frankly, I was amazed by the iPhone apps until I realized that Android do have a similar application database (maybe not as many) but at least represent the values I do find important in a company. With the vast multitudes taking up iPhones, I suddenly found it really over-rated and just another common phone.
Frankly, the only thing I like about Apple is their ipod classic. Its the only mp3 player I can find which has over 60+gb of storage space and can play videos without any additional external memory. Sure, the sound quality sucks but its a compromise I guess. Zune is not really well supported and the latest Zune HD, while nice, comes in only 32gb max

I've yet to figure out what this thing actually does. I mean, if someone were to take a picture of just the iPad without any objects nearby other than the bg, how exactly would people differentiate between this and the ipod touch? I wouldn't be opposed to having an actual computer like that (so the hp thing and toshiba thingy might not be that bad if they do it properly) that can run all pc aps, but as it currents stands? I just don't get it.

you can run Apple-approved apps on it...and read e-books...and surf the net if you can find a Wifi source or have it on 3G or...erm, yeah, that's about it from what I know

It looks interesting, but I can't exactly see a unique use for it. Maybe if the price drops, I might try it.

ah, but you can play games on a BIGGER screen...and read on a BIGGER screen as well on the ipad! Not too sure about the e-book on Apple Touch. I think it isn't supported or something

As with almost anything Apple, whatever they did hardly is anything new. Tablets have been around for ages, so their "revolutionary new product" isn't quite that revolutionary after all.
Just search around for alternatives and you should find something technologically superior that's far cheaper and doesn't come with an app store controlled by people who ban dictonaries because they have the word "fuck" in it, or decide everything for you. (like that you shouldn't be able to run flash because it drains the battery/crashes a lot)
I'm sure their controls are superior to that of the competition once again though, but if you want the freedom of choice and make decisions for yourself stay far away from them.
Only two reasons to buy anything apple imo are 1) You want OS X, or 2) You want the entire computer in the screen.. as some of the iMacs are cheaper than the alternatives.
