last.fm (what are you listening to?)

    i wanna know~

    just what is last.fm?

    Last.fm is a music service that lets you discover new music you like, based on the music you already listen to....

    short version...it keeps track of what you've veen listening to~

    if you deside to join up i recomend you download the scrobbler

    I hate last.fm. I can't skip around in a song, not all the listed songs can be played, and it has never come close to recommending me something I'd like. YouTube actually does a far better job.

    the points you make are very valid...

    truth be told i only use it for the recently listen to list and the personal top artist/track list...

    (and to see other peoples fav tracks/artist...)

    i never use last.fm to stream music...^^U

    I'm not familiar with last.fm, however I've had pretty good success with Pandora. My only gripe is the last of sophistication. I recall I had a prog metal station, which randomly selected a Sarah Brightman song- the song itself was great, but I couldn't add it as a seed generator because it started adding all kinds of neo-classical and musical theater songs to the playlist.

    EDIT: I just pulled up my pandora profile for like the first time in 3 years. The contrast really excentuates how fucking terrible the local terrestrial rock station is (as compared to my pandora metal station).
