I've recently run into the problem of having no ero-games to play. I need the experts of Sankaku Complex to help me in my search for new and interesting titles. I'm going to list some of my favorite eroge titles I've played and if you have a suggestion based on my tastes please post!

Also, it needs to have been subbed into English, or have an English patch, I can't read Japanese :(

Recently I've been looking for an eroge with a darker theme like Bible Black, Discipline, or Virgin Roster. I'd really appreciate the help!

Hmm... looks like you've been around sancom for a while, but you're new to the forums? If that's the case, welcome.

Since you're a fan of VN, I'll first direct you towards our current VN of the month thread:

It's kind of a new thing, and I'm debating whether or not to keep it going since there only seem to be 3people participating (now is the time to make your own suggestions for next month).

As for your actual request- we do have a specific thread dedicated to that sort of thing, but it tends to be more along the lines of "Identify Please". I'll make a couple of suggestions now, but this'll probably get locked.

If you (don't dis-)like loli, Wanko to Kurasou is very good- excellent story, excellent ero. It was a previous VN of the month.
If you like darker theme, Tsukihime has a very good story, but the ero is sub-par, and it definitely shows that it was made by amateurs (albeit skilled).
Saya no Uta is extremely dark in tone, but it's not sadistic. It's very short with a lot of ero-scenes, but they're more mood setting than fap setting.
Shera my Witch is another decent hardcore VN with decent artwork. It's interesting because it's got a lot of simulator aspects to it with a lot of stats that are rather transparent (i.e. you can see affection levels).

Thanks for the suggestions. I've actually never played any of those, so I have a few to go through now :)

As for the forum thing yeah I'm new *wave*. I've been coming to Sankaku Complex every day at least 3 times a day for the news stuff since I joined 7 months ago. I find the forums kinda hard to navigate; I tried the search function, I'm probably just doing it wrong :|

I bookmarked the VN thread :D

If you are searching for dark games I recommend these guys. I think they translate all those Black Cyc and Lilith games.

Or anything by Nitro+, actually. Chaos;Head is fucking awesome, one of my favourite VNs (it's not R-18 though)

It can't be helped really, especially for English-translated ones.

It could be helped if he played more fan-translated ones and less commercially translated ones. Obvious exceptions being Higurashi no naku koro ni(oh wait...) or Ever17(oh....wait.......). At least something like Edelweiss is a good game with bad characters and a shitty translation.

He really should at least try those being suggested. It's better than what he has on that list... -_-

Your usage of the word 'or' seems to imply that you you think those are not fan translated. They are.

Really? I was more or less following your line of thought. I guess I came off a little differently than expected; should've read much more closely. ^^;

And those are definitely fan-translated.

Yeah, I thought you knew, it just came off weird. I forgot about Yume Miru Kusuri. Awesome commercial eroge, everyone should check it out.

Yeah I wouldn't be asking for advice if I thought those were the best I could do, lol. I pretty much just started with eroge - I just have a lot of free time on my hands to complete these things. I'd rather hear from you guys here about where to find good stuff instead of /google and hoping I find something good.

My recommendation would be searching on vndb.org like this:

you'll just have to filter out the titles that don't say '18+' on the release page.

That'll give you a pretty good idea of what the English community as a whole likes best. Of course, it looks like you enjoy more H-scene 'heavy' games, so it's hard to give you a recommendation as everybody's taste in sex is difference.

How about Sengoku Rance?
It fits your tastes perfectly. There are tons of H-scenes and most of it is raep. The character designs are cute too. But note that it's a eroge with game content.

That said, I wouldn't even touch it if it was the last game to play on earth. Don't like raep. All the more when the protagonist is such an asshole.

If yuri's your thing, then Sono Hanabira ni kuchizuke wo may just be what you need. The english patch just came out fairly recently. I would even recommend it for the VN book club. If you guys do it, I might join just for that month(if I weren't so busy).

Also try out Kana Little Sister. A lot of people seem to like it. It's the "tugs at your heartstrings" type. So not sure if that's your cup of tea.

Yeah I've played Kana Little Sister, I was only able to go through one ending though... too sad :(

I've also played Ever17, so I'm not opposed to regular VN. Not gonna lie though, I like the ecchi better lol.
