Because they're wasting money on a dub that has little chance of turning out good when they could be using that money to license more anime or make better quality dubs for their other anime.
Can you prove this?
Yes, from experience. I've lent anime to several people and even though I ask them to watch it subbed, they refuse and say things like "I speak english, damnit!" or "I hate the sound of Japanese voices, so fucking high-pitched!"- when pushing stuff on people, I sometimes get carried away.^^;
Now, you prove how dubbing affects how companies license anime. From what I hear, the cost is just added to the pricetag.

Do you really think that regular people are going to want to watch Dokuro-chan (regardless of what language it's in)?
LOL. Regular people prolly don't even know about Dokuro-chan. But I guarantee that if I lent Dokuro-chan to them, they would be more willing
to watch it dubbed. But this isn't just about Dokuro-chan. What I want to know is why do you care about how good or bad a dub is, when you don't even watch them?
Why not be happy with what you have? Anime these days come dual-audio and are affordable so getting irate over a dub is a waste of energy.
