  1. Speaking of lossless being inconvenient, anyone know of a good way to convert the lossless albums to MP3? From what I've seen you have to:

    1) Convert the tta into wav
    2) Use the cue file and mount the wav
    3) Rip the virtual drive with some utility.

Problem is, normal cd ripping programs seem to crash on me. I've used CDex, FreeRIP and even the WAVE_OUT plugin for winamp. I mount the cue files with DAEMONTools.

Is there any handy program that can take the tta + cue as inputs and output appropriate MP3? Or barring that, suggestions on what to use to rip them without causing my system to freeze up randomly at the end of songs.

i kinda shun away form lossless audio becasue ipods dont' play them so it would pretty much make it null to get it for me. that and i already have most of the stuff i wanted anyway.

Depends on what you mean by "lossless audio". A FLAC, no. I don't think a wav works either. However, both of these can easily be converted to aif, which is Apple's lossless format.

The trial seems to be fully functional with no expiration. Not sure what makes it a trial then, but whatever, it works very well.

I would go for that if not for the fact that it would take up most of my new harddrive.

    MY POINT EXACTLY DX

I use frontend, convert to WAV, then mount WAV using CUE and Daemon-Tools. Then rip to MP3/M4A using iTunes then transfer to iPod.

Or there's MP3 collection here, too:
