  1. Okay, yeah, I'm massively behind now and due to health issues (neck problems, allergies) I can't really do this on my own much anymore. I know some of you expressed interest in helping, so I'll take your help.

Any and all jobs would be of great help, especially extra translators and someone who doesn't mind timing. Even if that's all I get, I don't mind doing the rest.

If we do this, where should we meet? The SanCom IRC? Make our own channel? What shall we call ourselves?

    I am in your debt!

I'll help with anything really, no experience, but I doubt it can be that hard to learn.

  7. so before we get all excited we need to figure out

1)what is needed to sub an anime
    2)what programs are needed
3)do we have people that can confidently say "i can translate that into english"
4)do we have a source for the raws?

the only thing that i know i can at the moment is encode videos but even that is iffy as i have just before to use the program. basically we need all these questions answered in order to keep moving forward

on a lighter note, i called myself "Scarlet Devil Hard-subs" when i "dubed" the beako doujin on the channel cause i've recently gotten into a flurry of remelia lovin....

  8. I was calling myself Bandanna Subs because I'm always wearing a bandanna.

    But for the questions.

1.) People who can translate spoken Japanese, people who know how to type/speak/read the English language well enough to check for grammar/spelling errors, people who like to do fancy font stuff, and lots of free time usually.
2.) I am fond of Aegisub for timing/subbing/typesetting. For encoding I was reading off http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech/index.html I was typing my scripts into just txt format like this
    Leina: blah blah boobs
    Risty: lol yeah nipples
Aegisub can read txt files like that and automatically load it to be timed
3.) I'm doing alright but someone else to do it and/or check against would be amazing
4.) I was using TV-J but I changed to Zero-Raws when TV-J stopped. I was using the AT-X uncensored broadcast in avi.

  10. It's actually a lot easier than it looks, it's just time consuming.

I've got all summer-ish. I've had experience with Adobe Premier, AVID, a bit of FinalCut, Windows Movie, Audacity (audio only) so I might be able to do some timing, text splicing, etc.

    Count me in.

I think if we sub as a group, we'd have to call it something like Sankaku Subs then.

Well, anything that identifies us with the site is a plus. Then people know where to find us.

Well... that leads to the cons as well...
People will know where to find us, plus the illegal distribution thing leading back here.

it's probably best to pick somethign that defines use people who are working on it, rather than our favorite site....

But we are all defined by our favorite site. Without it there would be not plans to do a sub, and I may not even have heard of QB.

Well, mull it over for a while. Everyone think of a good suggestion, and... we'll pick one randomly from a hat... or something.

Well, we each get a nickname I assume. That could be our individual representation.
Knowing you, you might pick something like Danbo for me though...
