Now do you consider historical re-enacting in the same vein as cosplay, or is it also ~ "attention whoring" ~ as you stated?Historical re-enactments are a case of grown adults who still want to play cowboys and indians, swords, or the like when they should know better.

But, isn't ~ "living history" ~ a gain ~ "visually" ~ for those to get a better understanding of what was? - verses *just* reading about it?
Surely, you would agree, that visuals would be most beneficial in some cases.
This would also include film, TV (as in Spartacus on STARZ), and (some animu) ~ as it assists in the story being told, including historical clothing/costuming used in those media types to depict the accuracy of the time represented...

History takes a back seat any time it is made palatable to the public by translating the records of the past into the visual, by bringing history to life through acting, or by any other means. The only way one can know the past as best as it can be hoped without time travel is by examining what they left behind. There is no point in creating or depending on farces based on the relics of the past except purely for entertainment value.

Isn't that a double standard Sir?
Shouldn't We (as a society) try to understand history through, experience (meaning) related stories handed down through (and) by our older generation, who lived through that particular time, event, which is considered history...
So, we learn from that stand point...
But isn't also compelling that an artist, writer, illustrator, and of course Tailor, from the past.... whose works are "found" through archaeological finds, and through historical societies, only try to replicate them, to be seen accurately in a museum? ~ including "living" representations ~ verses robots as Disney's Lincoln? (which is considered entertainment)

Your trolling won't work, we already know that you have no standards in manners and I won't fall as low as you are. I have something called a live and a job so I have better things to do then fighting with a attention-whore that don't got one.
Still doing the bigger person thing? Well NEWSFLASH, it's still not working.
I have no idea what a live is, but I've got a life. And WOW you got a job? Don't you have some chronic diseases that don't allow you to stand, sit, walk, exert force, move, eat and sleep on your back?
If you don't want to face up to my challenge, then fine. I'll just compete with your former B★RS outfit. Of course, IB★RS is much more difficult to cosplay, but I'll cut you some slack.
For future reference:

The past is in the past. It was a moment in time that re-creations and current retellings could only serve to obscure.
One cannot learn from the past except about the past. Time isn't cyclical except when one arbitrarily picks and choices what pieces to examine while ignoring and minimizing others.
