Ahh that sucks~, unless it wasn't that many pics and wouldn't take too long to recover.

I suppose different means of competition could be used over the current illustration-posting method.
Illustration-posting was the easiest method I could think of, and no one came up with any alternatives (before the tournament kicked-off).
Was thinking along the lines of VIPPER challenges where existing pics could be altered via image editing (or ASCII art in one occasion), with each challenge associated with different themes.

I don't really get what you're saying. Just editing your waifu into a picture would get old fast, and I doubt anyone here could make adequate ASCII art.

Just a random idea of mine (for this tournament) based on other competitions. Simply put, a tournament with a different battle format (not necessarily requiring "shop"-ing skills) instead of illustration-posting.
Each one of the VIPPER challenges has different themes such as "make this art moé/cool/interesting/terrifying". Perhaps this could be incorporated in the tournament.

I don't know what we could do besides post pictures. There could be themes for the pictures, like "Pictures of Your Waifu Holding a Goat", but no image editing because some people don't have the tools/talent to do that.

No... and I wish ~ it was an entire folder...
DAMN! I hurt just knowing that occurred, but I am slowly replacing it, and filling it back up again.
So, I'll be ready... :)

imo and suggestion, is that I vote for/that, the new competition to remain as it is, with posting images, due to the facts that were mentioned and discussed.
This would make it even and fair.

Registering a Sankaku Channel account (or on any other imageboards) is an alternative to keeping a backup copy of your favourite images. Simply add an image post as your favourite and you have a personal storage online.
You may even upload your own images that haven't already exist in the channel database.No worries of losing backup image files from file corruption, viruses, physical disk damage, etc. Also, more free disk space for your other, err, *ahem* collections.

LMAO! EPIC theme suggestion! I'd kill to be said goat, especially if she's holding my "milk appendage". I'd be bleating all night/day long. ^o^

There are 255 days left of the year, or about 36 weeks. If we start next month, and have the rounds move consistently at one round a week, it would work out nicely for 16 participants (32 would really be pushing it). I think the same basic format as last time would work well, so I'll post the revised set of rules later.
